Another winner for Siobhan Rutledge
It was a good night for Meath jockeys at Dundalk and especially for Siobhan Rutledge from Ashbourne.
Rutledge partnered her third career winner when the John McConnell-trained Bellick won a six-furlong handicap by a neck and a nose as the horses flashed past the post.
The third win is crucial in the sense that it reduces her claim from 10lbs to 7lbs and McConnell has always held Rutledge in high regard.
“I'm delighted, particularly for Siobhan, she's a really good rider and is improving all the time," he commented.
" She's good value for 7lb now, it's really coming together for her now and I think she has a future," he added.
Siobhan is a twin and had her first winner at Navan last September, she is a key member of the staff at McConnell's Rockview Stables near Bellewstown racecourse. Her twin brother Ger also rides out regularly there.
Last year Siobhan was selected by RACE for a trip to Slovakia to compete at a track near Bratislava.
Also tonight at Dundalk there was a double for Moynalty jockey Declan McDonogh and also a winner for Robbie Colgan.
