Meath Beo 2020 series begins at Bellinter House
Stunning venues around Meath will host traditional musicicans of the county on Sunday evenings at 6pm as Meath Beo returns for its fourth year with the launch of six new events for 2020. The successful series of acoustic performances is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and has grown strongly since its 2017 beginning at the Hill of Tara.
The aim of Meath Beo is to raise the profile of the native authentic traditional arts talent in Meath. Through these series of acoustic traditional events, the artist led evenings showcase the talent within the county at this time. Troy Bannon, Brian Carolan, Michelle Powderly, Geraldine Smith have achieved the highest artistic acclaim, with young musicians Brendan Rowan, Éamon Óg Ó Donnchadha, Meabh Ní Raghallaigh performing worldwide. This series allow these artists perform at home, growing existing and new audiences throughout the county.
The 2020 schedule is planned as a spring series and an autumn series, of three events each, featuring two acts per evening. The first event will take place in Bellinter House on Sunday 23rd February.
