Coscoran leading Meath challenge at national indoors this weekend
Meath athlete of the year Andrew Coscoran haeds the 1,500-metre rankings for the National Senior Indoor Championships at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena this Saturday and Sunday.
Only days after returning from the USA Coscoran told the Meath Chronicle that he is now targeting a place in the 1,500m at the Tokyo Olympics in July and August.
Coscoran (Star of the Sea) has had a breakthrough indoor season to lead the 1,500m rankings, but according to the AAI website Eoin Pierce (Clonliffe Harriers) caused a stir last year by winning the metric mile title.
KEVIN MCGRATH
Bohermeen's Kevin McGrath is ranked at 14 of the top 20 for the 1,500 metres and the Meath athletes are also in the Mile while McGrath also has a high ranking in the 800m.
Other Meath athletes who will be bidding for success include Shane Aston (Trim AC) and Rafael McCaffrey (Ratoath).
