Accommodation needed for frontline staff
A nurse working in the Navan are has appealed to anyone who could provide accommodation to nurses during the fight against Covid-19 to provide help to the front line workers who are terrified of passing the virus to their families.
The nurse, who is not an employee of Our Lady's Hospital, but works in other front line services in Navan has left his family home during this lockdown period to protect his wife and children.
“I am afraid of becoming infected and passing it on to my family,” he said.
He has been staying with his uncle who has an underlying illnesss.
“I am keeping out of his way – there is more room there, but now I am terrified of infecting him, as he was told at an appointment this week that the virus could probably kill him.”
“Now I don't now where to go. I really am at risk of picking up th virus an I don't want to pass it on.”
He has called on anyone who could make accommodation in Meath available for an extended time to come forward.
Anyone who wants to help this nurse or any frontline worker out, can message the Meath Chronicle.
