Three for Colin Keane at Leopardstown

Trim man Colin Keane was the man in form today at Leopardstown where he recorded a treble with the final winner a little extra special as it was on a horse trained by his father, Gerry.

It all added up to a 590/1 treble as he steered Athlumney Hall to victory in a handicap for Navan owner Michael Smith.

The owner, Michael Smith, has emjoyed some big race success in the past with horses like Athlumney Lad and Jazz Messenger and Athlumney Hall could be heading over hurdles in the future.

“He was very backward as a three-year-old and has improved all through the winter. He’s a big baby," stated trainer Gerry Keane.

“I think he’ll keep improving and he might get a bit further as well, h might make a hurdle horse down the road," added the trainer.

Ger Lyons provided the ammunition for the other two Colin Keane winners, the first was Nickajack Cave which won the Listed Saval Beg Levmoss Stakes and then Heliac won the Listed Noblesse Stakes.

There was also a winner for Stamullen trainer Tom McCourt.
