McDonogh and Murtagh fly the Meath flag at Naas

Moynalty jockey Declan McDonogh and Bohermeen's Johnny Murtagh kept the Meath flag flying today at Naas with a winner apiece.

McDonogh had an impressive winner for trainer Joseph O'Brien on board Lady Penelope in the Listed Plusvital Irish EBF Fillies’ Polonia Stakes, the feature race on the card.

Lady Penelope previously ran at Maisons-Laffitte in a Group 2 in October 2019, but McDonogh had plenty to spare to win by over a length at the post.

Johnny Murtagh's great run this week continued as Kosman won a handicap under Shane B Kelly after going close at Roscommon on Monday.

“I hope this week doesn’t end," commented the Bohermeen man who was recording his eighth winner in six days.

The last two races at Naas today were televised on RTE 2 (5pm - 6pm).

The action from Leopardstown will be televised tomorrow at the same time RTE" with the feature race the at 5.15pm, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Blue Wind Stakes (Group 3) worth €65,000.
