Two men to appear in court in connection with seizure of €1.2m worth of cocaine

The two men arrested in connection with the drugs seizure on Saturday are expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate St, Dublin 8 at 10.30am this morning, Monday 13th July 2020.

The men were arrested following the seizure of €1.2m worth of cocaine in following a major Garda operation led operation targeting organised criminality.

Personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) supported by the Garda National Crime and Security Intelligence Service stopped and searched two vehicles near Ashbourne.

According to Gardai searches that were undertaken with the assistance of the Revenue Customs Service resulted in the discovery and seizure of a quantity of cocaine (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €1.2m and led to the arrests of two men, aged 35 and 62 years, were arrested.
