Siskin edged out in Sussex
Colin Keane and Siskin were edged out in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood today following a thriller that was won by a late surging Mohaather for trainer Marcus Tregoning.
The Ger Lyons-trained Siskin was briefly in front in the closing stages of an epic encounter, but was overhauled close home.
There was some consolation for Colin Keane in the form of a win in a five-furlong Group 3 for trainer Michael O'Callaghan with Steel Bull.
Steel Bull justified 2/1 favouritism in what was a first Qatar Goodwood Festival success for both trainer Michael O'Callaghan and jockey Colin Keane.
"When you are on a horse like this, it makes it easy for you, he travelled everywhere and, when I gave him a squeeze, he picked up very well," said Keane of Steel Bull.
The Trim jockey was on the mark at Galway last night, but due to Covid-19 restrictions will now have to quarantine for 14 days when he returns from the UK.
