Colin Keane set to exit quarantine this week

Sidelined since riding Siskin into third place in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on 29th July Trim jockey Colin Keane will return to action at Leopardstown on Thursday.

Keane and Siskin were edged out in the Sussex Stakes following a thriller that was won by a late surging Mohaather for trainer Marcus Tregoning.

There was some consolation for Keane in the form of a win in a five-furlong Group 3 for trainer Michael O'Callaghan with Steel Bull.

Steel Bull ran again at the Curragh on Sunday, but was hampered when he broke two front teeth in the stalls at the start.

Keane's last Irish winner was at Galway the night before Goodwood and due to Covid-19 restrictions he had to quarantine for 14 days when he returned from the UK.

After two weeks on the sideline Keane returns to action this week on 33 winners in the race for the jockeys' title, 16 behind leader Shane Foley.
