Go Another One now on 11 from 25 for McConnell
Trainer John McConnell certainly has the knack of placing a horse to maximise its chances as he demonstrated yesterday at Down Royal when Go Another One won for the 11th time in 25 outings.
On further scrutiny, Go Another One has only finished outside the first four on two occasions - once due to a fall over the Cheltenham fences last March in the Kim Muir and on the other occasion fifth at Punchestown in 2019 in the Grade 1 Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle.
Win number 11 arrived yesterday at the Ulster track in the Ladbrokes Live Streaming Hurdle with an impressive 18-length margin for the 8/15 favourite.
The now eight-year-old has won seven times over hurdles, two bumpers and twice over fences and it also well travelled with victories outside Ireland in places like Worcester, Perth, Kelso and Market Rasen.
There was plenty of other Meath success at the Ulster track yesterday with winers for Gordon Elliott, Gavin Cromwell and Dermot McLOughlin.
Elliott won the opener when Keith Donoghue partnered 7/4 favourite Longclaw to victory in a three-year-old hurdle.
Jonathan Moore was on board Presenting Meghan to win a mares' hurdle while Conor Maxwell partnered Trickey Trix to a handicap hurdle win for McLoughlin.
