Another Down Royal winner for John McConnell
Third at Bellewstown last week, the John McConnell-trained A Case For You, was first past the post at Down Royal today in a seven-furlong maiden.
McConnell's Go Another One won at the the Ulster track last week.
Colin Keane was on board the McConnell-owned two-year-old today and had nearly three lengths to spare on runner-up Earls Rock.
That was the first leg of a double for the Trim man who then won for Noel Meade on the somewhat aptly named Jerandme which won a beginners chase at Kilbeggan last time for Sean Flanagan in July.
Today on the flat it was the Ulster Cesarewitch over two miles and one furlong and it was a repeat success for the trainer having won the same race 12 months ago with Dinard Rose.
There was another winner from Dunboyne also (Amanda Mooney and Luke Comer in the last few days) when Jack Davison took the opener, a fillies’ maiden with the 9/4 favourite Mooneista.
The Davison-trained winner won from the Johnny Murtagh-trained Perfect Match (50/1) and Noel Meade / Colin Keane with 20/1 chance The Blue Garter in third.
