Andrew Coscoran in action today at Euros

Star of the Sea athlete Andrew Coscoran is one of 22 athletes who has been selected for the Irish team to compete at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Torun, Poland and he will be in action today at approx 7.20pm Irish time.

The Irish team was announced last week by AAI and joining Coscoran in the 1,500m event will be Luke McCann (UCD) and Paul Robinson (St Coca's, Kilcock).

Coscoran takes solid form to Poland after a couple of good outings in France last month and he was in action in Madrid last week.

Star of the Sea athlete Coscoran won the 2020 All-Ireland Indoor 1,500m title and set a new championship record of 3.41.

Some 733 athletes from 47 countries are set to compete at the 36th championships starting this evening at 6pm lrish-time with the qualifying pool of the men’s high jump.

FIRST DAY SCHEDULE 4th MARCH

The first Irish athlete to take to the track at the 2021 European Indoor Championships will be Michelle Finn in the first round of the 3,000m at 18.30 (6.30pm Irish time).

Andrew Coscoran, Paul Robinson and Luke McCann will go in the first round of the 1,500m at 19.20 (7.20pm Irish time) to round out the Irish athletes in action on day 1.
