Jimmy Corcoran in fine form as Wexford get first win

The story of the night has to be Jimmy Corcoran's clean sheet between the posts for Wexford as they got that first win of the season at the 10th attempt with a 2-0 verdict at Stradbrook against Cabinteely.

And Wexford didn't make it easy on themselves picking up a red card in the second-half, but with Corcoran in fine form they were well worth the win.

Dylan Hand featured again for Athlone, but they lost at home (2-3) to UCD who hit a winner in added time.

Georgie Poynton retunred to the starting 11 for Shelbourne and helped the Dublin side to a 4-0 victory against Galway.

In the other games in the First Division Treaty Utd beat Bray by 2-0 and Cobh beat Cork City 1-0.

PREMIER

It was all away wins in the Premier with Dundalk sinking St Pat's 2-0 at Richmond Park where Greg Sloggett once again had a solid outing.

It was a disappointing night for Tim Clancy's Drogheda Utd as they lost to Derry City (1-2) - Luke Heeney and James Clarke featured for Drogheda and each side finished with 10 men following separate red cards.

Drogheda still remain in fourth position.

There was also a red card for the winning team in Ballybofey where Sligo Rovers defeated Finn Harps by 2-1.

Tomorrow night it's Longford Town at home to Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians at home to Waterford.

Ashbourne man Dawson Devoy will be joining the Republic of Ireland u-21s in Spain following his appearance for Bohemians against Waterford tomorrow night.

The League of Ireland mid-season break will see the teams returning to action again on Friday 11th June.
