David Dunne adds another winner to 2021 tally
Meath trainer David Dunne added another winner to his tally for 2021 when landing a handicap hurdle yesterday at Punchestown.
Jockey Sean Flanagan was on board the 8/11 favourite Full Noise which was winning for the first time after a series of unplaced efforts over hurdles and fences.
"This looked a weak enough race and we thought if he jumped adequately he had a chance," commented Dunne to irishracing.com.
The trainer was later asked to explain the apparent improvement in form by the stewards.
However, having considered the evidence the stewards referred the matter to the referrals committee for further consideration.
Trainer Lorna Fowler chalked up her second success of the month when Politesse was a comfortable winner of a beginners chase to add to wins in a bumper and over hurdles.
It was a significant occasion for jockey Conor Orr as he lost his claim in the process.
“Conor has ridden out his claim with that winner and he’s done all the schooling on her, they are very much a partnership,” remarked the winning trainer to irishracing.com
Gavin Cromwell was also on the mark at the Kildare track when Call Me Dolly won a handicap hurdle with James O'Sullivan on board.
