Mulvany crew smiling in Sligo

Based outside Navan or Kells depending on your preference, trainer Michael Mulvany brought a crew of three runners to Sligo today and they all collected some money.

However, it was The Blue Panther that added the extras with a snug win by seven lengths for jockey Sam Ewing.

The Mulvany-trained and owned Nailed Down (ran at Gowran yesterday) collected €1,000 for third behind two James McAuley horses in a claiming race and then duly departed after a successful claim was made for €5,000.

Zegos Surprise, which is owned by a syndicate, contributed €725 towards her board and lodgings finishing fourth in a fillies' handicap.

However, it was The Blue Panther, third on debut in a Naas juvenile in March 2020 to the Jim Bolger-trained Poetic Falre, that picked up a first prize of €12,600 in an EBF auction race.

There probably was a pit-stop at Supermacs in Carrick-on-Shannon on the way home?
