Purcell makes impression in Nice
Trim athlete Harry Purcell also made a big impression last weekend when he travelled to Nice, France to take part in the 'Objectif Tokyo' track and field meet.
The Trim AC man finished seventh in a very competitive and high quality 800m field with the race won by 20-year-old Oliver Dustin.
Purcell clocked up 1:46.11 taking .42 off the time he ran at the Irish Milers club meeting in Belfast a few weeks ago.
Purcell lined up in that 800m and ran a new personal best of 1m46.53 in an exciting dip on the line against John Fitzsimons from Kildare AC with a photo finish required to give the nod to the Kildare runner
