SLANE STAY IN HUNT FOR KNOCKOUT SPOT

Slane...2-16

Drumconrath...1-13

Ever improving Drumconrath ran Slane close in their Tailteann Cup encounter, but the concession of second quarter goals proved decisive.

Slane hit the ground running notching the first three points, but battling Drumconrath opened their account with a point from Oran Brady. The hosts won a penalty which Matthew Durnin hammered to the net to give Drumconrath a lead and when Stephen Crosby added a point to make it 1-2 to 0-4 at the water break they looked in good shape.

LATE POINT DENIES ST ULTAN'S RARE WIN

St Ultan's...0-12

Carnaross...1-9

St Ultan's made little of their poor Tailteann Cup form as they held a fancied Carnaross side to a draw.

The hosts looked set for a shock first win of the campaign when two scores from Adam Rogers gave them a late lead. However, Carnaross rallied and secured a draw to maintain their outside chance of a place in the last four.

The first score of this entertaining contest came inside the first two minutes as Carnaross hit the net from a well taken penalty. Rogers pointed from a mark in reply, but Carnaross struck back with two points.
