Proud Julia welcomes great, great, grandchild

Julia Maguire Monknewtown, Slane met her great, great grandchild, Leighton, for the first time on Wednesday of last week.

The two were introduced to each other at Julia's home in what was a very significant event for the family. Leighton was accompanied by his mother Ieshia with representatives five different generations in attendance.

There was Julia, her son John, his daughter Olivia, her daughter Ieshia and her son Leighton. Julia Maguire is originally Tipperary. She moved to the Bettystown area where she worked as a housekeeper before meeting Kevin Maguire from the Grangegeeth area. They went on to raise a family of seven.

Leighton is her first great, great, grandchild. Julia loves her TV, radio and reading and she is also a very skilful knitter of clothes with some of her work sent to help those in need in the Third World.

Julia also loved working in the garden in the past and enjoys getting out and about especially during the pleasant summer days.
