Guns n Roses mega fan brings 'Slash' back to Slane Castle!

A Guns n Roses mega fan forced visitors at Slane Castle to do a double take over the weekend when it appeared that music legend Slash had returned to rock the iconic music venue for a third time.

Californian born Ursula Wilson got heads turning when she dressed up as her hero in the spirit of Halloween on Saturday. Donning leather trousers, a top hat, Pulp Fiction t-shirt, bandana and killer shades, the barista who has been working at the historic local landmark as a barista in the Roots and Slane gourmet food truck looked every inch her music god complete with an exact replica of his famed guitar and the rock chick can even claim the clone like hair as her own!

"I'm a huge Guns and Roses and music fan and during covid my boyfriend, Colin found a replica of Slash's guitar online and he bought it for me and I have been learning how to play it since," she said.

"Being American, Halloween is such a major event in the calendar, and I knew this year I had to dress up as Slash especially working at Slane Castle this year.

"So many people have been coming up asking to take pictures with me saying they were here for Guns n Roses first gig here in the 90s and have great memories."

Henry Mountcharles's son Alex said he was impressed with Ursula's effort to pay homage to the band who played one of the castle's most iconic gigs in 1992. He recalls:

"Slash has been at Slane twice but I wasn't expecting him to reappear today! I remember that first gig very well, it was the first one after the fire and everyone was concerned that the ruined building was going to be knocked down by the loud music but it was a great show and subsequently in 2017 it was a brilliant show, Guns n Roses certainly rocked the place that's for sure."

Alex says talks are ongoing with various artists to play the famous venue once more in what he says will be "the gig of the century." He added:

"Dad is cooking up bands and we just really want to see large live music come back, we understand that needs to be safe for everyone but hopefully by the time we get to next summer we will be well beyond the pandemic and everyone can jump around in the mosh pit once more."

Earlier this year, Lord Henry revealed he was eyeing up securing two concerts at the castle built on rock n roll for 2022 and Alex says they hope to have some news in the near future. He said:

"It is a work in progress, we are keeping options open, we can't really say yet but watch this space, hopefully we will have some news relatively soon."
