€10million road and greenway funding for Meath
Transport Infrastructure Ireland has allocated €10million for roads and greenways in Meath for 2022.
The funds allocated include finance for capital funding on new projects as well as for maintenance.
Among the significant local projects to receive funding are the Boyne Green Way (€500,000) and N51 Dunmoe Phase (€6million) and Slane Bypass (€1million).
Senator Shane Cassells said he was delighted to see the allocation of funding of €100,000 for advancement of the Boyne Greenway at the Ramparts in Navan]
“This is a very important project for tourism and the economy in Navan and the Boyne Valley area.”
“The €6 million announced for phase two of the N51 Dunmoe is another major infrastructure investment for the county announced today.
“In total there is over €10m in funding allocated for roads projects in Meath which is hugely significant,” he said.
Cllr Wayne Harding welcomed the funding for the Slane Bypass. “It is great news. This is such an important project and I hope that it can be progressed as quickly as possible.
He also welcomed funding for the Greenway which he said would be a major amenity for the area as well as an important tourist attraction.”
