Cup draws made for start of GAA season

Simonstown Gaels will open the defence of their Feis Cup title with a home game against Na Fianna on the weekend of 5th/6th February.

Last year's beaten finalists and Keegan Cup winners Wolfe Tones will take on Moynalvey in Group C of the Feis Cup, while SFC runners-up Dunboyne will face a long trip to Boyne Park to take on Ballinabrackey in round one.

All-Ireland Club IFC semi-finalists Trim will have little time to recover as they are drawn to play Skryne away from home in round one.

Also in Group B are Ratoath and Navan O'Mahonys will meet in round one and further down the line Trim manager Kevin Reilly will take on his home club who are now managed by former Trim player Darren Fay.

There is also an interesting clash in the Corn na Boinne with new Longwood manager Caoimhin King set to face his home town club Dunshaughlin, while last year's beaten finalists St Patrick's will take on Blackhall Gaels and Clann na nGael.

As well as the Tailteann Cup for Junior club, there will also be a Tailteann Shield for Junior B sides and a Premier Cup for 12 second teams who have entered the competition.
