McEntee names strong side for league opener

Meath manager Andy McEntee has named a strong team for Sunday's NFL Div 2 opener against Galway in Salthill (2pm) with Conor McGill the surprise inclusion following his quicker than expected return from injury.

McGill missed both of Meath's O'Byrne Cup games against Laois and Wexford, but the Ratoath man has recovered from his arm injury to take his place at number three in a new look full-back line that includes two of the five changes from the side that lost out to Dublin in the Leinster SFC semi-final last July.

Robin Clarke replaces Seamus Lavin who has left the panel to go travelling, while Eoin Harkin also comes into the full-back line after a string of impressive displays for UCD in the Sigerson Cup.

The other three changes from the loss to Dublin last summer sees Ethan Devine come into midfield for the injured Bryan Menton, while James Conlon and Shane Walsh will replace Eamon Wallace and Jordan Morris in attack.

Meath (v Galway) - Harry Hogan; Robin Clarke, Conor McGill, Eoin Harkin; Cathal Hickey, Shane McEntee, Donal Keogan; Padraic Harnan, Ethan Devine; Cillian O'Sullivan, Bryan McMahon, Mathew Costello; James Conlon, Shane Walsh, Joey Wallace.
