'Raise the Roof' meeting on homelessness in Meath

Action to resolve the worsening housing crisis will be the topic at a

'Raise the Roof'  public meeting which will take place  Dan Shaw Centre, Commons Road, Navan next Wednesday, 1st June at 7pm.

The SIPTU Meath District Council is hosting a discussion with prominent speakers on the actions needed on a local and national level to resolve the worsening housing crisis in the county.

'Raise the Roof' is comprised of trade unions, housing and homeless agencies, women’s groups, political parties, representatives of older people, children’s advocacy groups, community organisations, student unions, Traveller groups, housing academics and experts.

All members of the public and elected representatives are welcome to attend.

Public meetings will also take place in Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, and Maynooth.

The series of national and regional meetings has been organised to highlight the impact of the worsening crisis, the failure of official housing policy, and the need for a radical change in policy direction.
