Jordan steps down from top NEFL role
Declan Jordan has step down from the leading role as General Secretary of the North East Football League.
The OMP Utd clubhman has decided to resign from the role which he accepted last February replacing the long-serving Gerry Gorman.
In a statement aimed at "all members of the NEFL past and present" Jordan said.
"It is with a heavy heart I have informed the officer board of the NEFL last night of my resignation as secretary. I want to thank all club officials, players, referees, and all associates of soccer in the North East for their co-operation in the past 11 years in which I was honoured to be a member of the NEFL Committee.
"I want to pay tribute to all committee members whom I have worked with, in the NEFL and LFA. I want to give a special word of thanks to Gerry Gorman who has not just been a colleague but has been a fantastic friend and support to me in the past few years. Both himself and Dee will be forever very close friends.
"Finally, to my ex-wife Louise and my two sons Alan, Conor for the love and support shown to me throughout my time involved.
"I wish everyone the absolute best wishes for the future and hopefully see more football stars come out of our fantastic league in the years ahead."
Gerry Gorman added: "On behalf of the NEFL I would like to thank Declan for his contribution with assisting the administration of the League, most of which was spent as Fixtures Secretary.
"I would like to wish him the best of luck in the future."
