Finding your way around the Púca Festival

This year's Púca Festival kicks off this evening with one of the biggest and most exciting entertainment and cultural line-ups Trim and Athboy has ever seen, promising four nights of fun and excitement!

The Puca team have released maps to Trim and Athboy to help attendees easily navigate through Trim and Athboy during the Festival

The arrival of the Spirits’ on Saturday October 29th officially kicks off the Púca Festival!As dusk falls, and night descends, join us in the Samhain Procession as it weaves its way through the eerie dark streets of Trim, making its way to the Magical Trim Castle.This must see illuminated procession is presented by Luxe Landscape Theatre. It will be high energy and is full of large scale processional pieces, music, fire and performancesSpectators are invited to celebrate the Samhain spirits and to create their own masks. Dressing up is highly encouraged!Under the cloak of twilight, the whole family will be entertained with this mystical magical parade.
With some of the best names in Irish Music performing live, the Púca Festival is proud to announce our 2022 line-up of some of the best acts in Irish music, with names like Imelda May, Gavin James and The High Kings, there’s something for everyone this year!
We invite you to gather in the Fair Green on Halloween night in anticipation of the arrival of the embers from the Samhain fires at the Hill of Ward Ceremony. This will pay homage to the earliest Samhain bonfires when all fires would be doused and lit again from the communal bonfire.When the fire at Tlachtga was lit, it gave the signal that all was well and that all other fires could now be relit.While you wait you will be treated to some videos and performance celebrating the significance of the fires and their locations.The embers from Tlachtga will arrive via procession and will be used to ignite a new fire in the Fair Green.Once this fire is lit, the celebrations will begin, including:Hit Machine DrummersThe Hit Machine Drummers are a brotherhood of rhythmic warriors, their live show is designed to enthral and entertain with dynamic captivating drumming. The Hill of Ward (Tlachtga) was a major ceremonial enclosure and one of the earliest sites to host Samhain, the place from which the light of the new year first emanates. Here the traditions of Samhain continue at the ancient hill.
