Happy Heart Eating Award for Navan Hospital
The catering staff in Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan is celebrating after achieving re-certification of the Gold Happy Heart Award.
The catering staff had a re-certification audit by the Irish Heart Foundation to retain their Happy Heart Healthy Eating Award. Our Lady’s Hospital not only retained the award but also retained the gold standard.
The Healthy Eating Award is valid for two years and in 2016 the Irish Heart Foundation introduced an innovative new grading system of gold, silver and bronze to its Happy Heart at Work Eating Award for staff restaurants.
The staff canteen food and snack menus embrace the initiative to improve staff heart health with the wide variety of choices available daily and promote healthy choice.
The award recognises the hard work and dedication of the catering team who continually do things better each day and recognise the support from management and multi-disciplinary teams within the hospital toward this achievement.
