Navan get ready to welcome Queens for big showdown

Today is a big day for Navan RFC as they host Queens University in the fifth round of the AIL Div 2A campaign at Balreask Old.

The game promises to be a close affair as Queens are top of the table while Navan are third but only two points behind.

Navan have shown some fine form this season after making the drop from Div 1B. Last time out they recorded an impressive victory over Old Crescent away.

Now the chance is there for them to take a big scalp and go top themselves if they can defeat Queens.

Navan are once again sponsored by Hannon Travel and the company issued a statement. It's a mission statement, as to why they continue to support Navan RFC.

"Navan RFC is a local club, with local players, sponsors, volunteers, coaches and management, who all carry that admirable ambition that makes it such a fantastic community.

"We are hugely proud that the club encompasses all aspects of the game, from juvenile rugby, blue dragons, women’s rugby, men’s rugby and players at all levels, making it inclusive for all.

"Hannon Travel’s aim is to connect our clients with their customers, colleagues, friends and families all over the world, through providing the best corporate and leisure travel experience.

"We design travel experiences for individuals, offering tailored travel to worldwide destinations. We may have global reach; however, we are a proud local team and have been established in Navan since 2000.

"We connect with Navan RFC through this shared ambition for success, inclusivity, and our passion for all things local. It is not just Hannon Travel who back Navan RFC, a host of local businesses support each and every player and are a hugely important factor in the overall success of the club.

"We must support local businesses, so our local community can continue to thrive. The future is looking bright in Navan RFC and we would like to take this opportunity to wish all the players, coaches, managers, backroom support and fans every success for the rest of the season."
