The Ashbourne Municipal District 2022 Pride of Place awards took place in The Civic Offices in Ashbourne on Wednesday, 28th September, 2022.
Cathaoirleach of Ashbourne MD, Cllr Amanda Smith warmly welcomed the guests who represented the 29 applicant groups who took part. Cllr Smith recognised improvements made by local communities to create civic pride in their area and congratulated all the participating groups on their achievements. Cllr Smith noted that the evenings awards showcase all that is best and innovative in communities throughout Meath.
Director of Services for the Ashbourne MD Ms Fiona Lawless thanked the groups on behalf of Meath County Council for their commitment and for the work that is carried out by the volunteers. She acknowledged the importance of their work for the people of Ashbourne and its surrounds and commended their commitment, noting that the district is a credit to all involved. She commented that the groups present epitomise the sense of community spirit that can be seen all across Meath and that it was evident that each group is committed to creating positive civic change in their communities.
