Shocking footage circulating online shows how brave staff members at an Ashbourne motorcyle shop foiled an attempt by a hammer-wielding gang to steal a motorcycle on Wednesday.
The terrifying incident occurred outside the Ashbourne Motorcycles premises in the Ashbourne Business Park at around 3pm on 15th February.
The gang of six men arrived on three scrambler bikes and were armed with weapons including a hammer, but fled empty handed.

A gardai spokesperson said: "On 15th February at 3pm, there was an attempted robbery at Ashbourne Motorcycle Centre. It is currently under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on (01) 8010600."
