Meath goalkeeper Harry Hogan.

Hogan over 'first bump in road' after Derry defeat and is looking ahead to Louth clash

MATCH REACTION

"That was the first bump in the road. It is tough to come up here, but we are disappointed with our performance. There is a lot to be learned from tonight, I know it is a loss but I think we will come back next week stronger than ever.

"The early goal got deflected before it came to me, so it was a tough one. The concession of an early goal should have been a kick for us to go on and try to get our own goal.

"Derry a few years now pushing, pushing, pushing. They are dogged around the ball, that is where we hope to get too and I've no doubt we will.

"I think we there or thereabouts. Eugene (Eivers) has us fitter than ever, so I think we are pretty close to them in those terms, but today just wasn't our day.

"We are already looking forward to next Sunday. There should be a brilliant crowd in Navan and no doubt we will put today's wrongs right.

"I think we are as good as any of the teams in this division. Tonight was just a bad night for us, I think next week Louth will get the brunt of what we should have done tonight."
