WATCH: Sneak peek as work progresses on Nobber to Kilmainhamwood greenway

Work is progressing well on the Boyne Valley to Lakelands County Greenway between Nobber and Kilmainhamwood.

The tracks and overgrowth have all been cleared and the base gravel has been laid along the route.

Works to upgrade the bridge over the Dee close to Kilmainhamwood, fencing and the final surface will need to be completed before it can open.

Meanwhile work recently started on the 4km stretch between Wilkinstown and Castletown which will link up the Nobber to Castletown section with the Wilkinstown to Gibbstown/Tailings Pond section and is the last section of the route to commence construction.

Work is also ongoing between the Tara Mines Tailings Pond back to Navan.
