Blake McGarry is busking for Focus Ireland.

Oristown musician’s Big Busk for Focus Ireland

A YOUNG Oristown musician is set to take part in The Big Busk in conjunction with Today FM, to support Focus Ireland’s vital work in helping families and children exit homelessness.

Fifteen-year-old Blake McGarry signed up over his mid-term break from St Patrick's Classical School in Navan where he is a 3rd year student, to take part in the charity event next month.

Blake was delighted when he was given a slot to play by Focus Ireland in St Stephens Green Shopping Centre at 5.30pm on march 10th.

In just one week, through his fundraising page the keen musician has raised over €1,000 and is delighted with all the support for such a great cause.

The teenager has had a love of music from a young age and in 2020 was crowned the Busking Champion at the famous Clancy brothers annual music festival in Carrick on Suir.

The youngster is keen to put his busking talent to great use now to raise funds for Focus Ireland with his guitar, vocals and bodhrán.
