Scoil Naomh Eoin pupils celebrate World Book Day in style

Today the corridors of Scoil Naomh Eoin are bursting with colour as students celebrate World Book Day. From authors like Dr. Seuss and Roald Dahl to David Walliams and Jeff Kinney, each classroom door has been decorated by students to depict their favourite books.

World Book Day is Ireland's largest annual event that celebrates books and reading. Each year children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character as literary events take place across the country in schools, libraries and bookshops.

The aim of World Book day is not only to celebrate books but allow children and adults to explore different literary genres. It also provides those without books at home access to some of their own and encourages them to develop and sustain a passion for reading.
