The Roses outside Maguires of Tara

Meath Rose applicants brought on Mystery Tour

This year's Meath Rose Selection takes place on Saturday 22nd, April at the Knightsbrook Hotel Spa and Golf Resort in Trim.

"We are still welcoming any girls out here who would like to get involved," says Lyn Moloney, Meath Rose Coordinator.

Over the past few weeks, applicants have been meeting and attending events held by the Rose of Tralee committee, including a mystery tour organised by the Meath Rose Team which took place on 25th Saturday, March. The tour began with breakfast hosted by Knightsbrook Hotel, followed by a visit to Trim Castle and Emerald Park, which has recently revealed new rides and zoo animals.

"We would like to extend our appreciation to all our local sponsors and of course our Host Sponsor, Knightsbrook Hotel, none of which would be possible without the ongoing support from The Meath Chronicle," commented Lyn.

The Roses then proceeded to the Hill of Tara for lunch at McGuires and a guided tour of the ancient heritage site, followed by archery lessons and a game of human foosball at the Navan Adventure Centre, finishing the mystery tour with a visit to Bective Abbey.

"A huge thank you to Carolan’s Coach hire who very kindly sponsored the coach for the day and a massive thank you to Trim Castle, Emerald Park, Hill of Tara, McGuires, Navan Adventure Centre and Bective Abbey for hosting the Roses and treating them so well.

Applications to represent Meath are still open, with the closing date on Sunday April 16th.
