Lisa Murray releases new single co-written with Grammy award winner Femke Weidema

Pop singer and songwriter Lisa Murray is back at it with a new single titled 'Mouse or a Man'. Co-written with Grammy award-winning songwriter Femke Weidema when she visited Nashville last summer, it tells the story of how it feels to be in a 'situationship' and 'not know where you stand'.

"I truly believe we crafted something really unique with this track!" said Lisa.

This is the third single released by the Meath songstress from her upcoming debut EP 'Empty Heart', preceded by 'Woman in A World', a plea for women's rights, and 'Stuck On You', the tale of a jilted lover who is unable to move on.

The title is a play on the idiom "are you a man or a mouse", and the frustration of questioning whether or not a partner will step up and commit.

“When I wrote this song, the first thing that came to me was the piano intro. It’s an unusual harmonic progression - Bbm Absus4 F#," she explained, "but it sounded like the way I was feeling at the time - slightly melancholic with a whole lot of tension."

The song was produced in collaboration with recording and mix engineer Graeme Young. It also features bassist Mandy Clarke, drummer Davide Rinaldi and guitarist Marty Hailey.

The music video is set and shot in Rockfield House, an 18th century mansion located near Lisa's hometown, Gibbstown, in Meath.

'Mouse or a Man' is out next Wednesday, April 19th. It can be streamed here on Soundcloud.
