Public urged to attend public consultations into future of River Boyne

Development Perspectives (DP) and the Centre for Freshwater and Environmental Studies in Dundalk Institute of Technology are hosting a number of public consultations and workshops in Drogheda, Navan, Trim, Kells and Virginia over the next few weeks to discuss the future and vision(s) of the River Boyne and its catchment.

These workshops are open to all members of the public, but places are limited so register early to ensure your voice is heard.

Development Perspectives CEO, Bobby McCormack said of the meetings, “We want to hear people's ideas about the future of the Boyne, especially those that live within the Boyne catchment. The Boyne is a treasure that for too long hasn't been respected in the manner it deserves.

"The future can be different so these workshops can act as a space for people to discuss and share their hopes and wishes that will help co-create the Boyne Vision. The history of the Boyne Valley is rich in meaning and story and our hope is that the future of the area can be as well".

This work is being undertaken on behalf of the Boyne Rivers Trust. The outcomes of these consultations will be collated into a report called the "Boyne Vision".
