‘Competition fierce’ as Kells hosts Community Games swimming finals

The Meath Community Games Swimming Final 2023 in Kells Swimming Pool brought together young swimmers from all over Meath to compete in various swimming events, including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly strokes.

Event organiser, Sarah Reilly, commented that competition was fierce, and the young athletes showcased their swimming skills to the delight of the spectators. The swimmers were cheered on by their families, coaches, and friends, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere throughout the event.

The event organisers were pleased with the turnout and the level of sportsmanship displayed by the young athletes. The Meath Community Games Swimming Final 2023 is part of a larger initiative aimed at promoting physical activity and healthy competition among young people in the Meath area.

The Kells Community Games Area Secretary, Marion Morris, also assisted in coordinating the event. Marion observed that the Meath Community Games Swimming Final is an important event in the Meath sporting calendar, "and we are delighted with the success of this year's event.

"We are proud to see so many young people in our community taking an interest in swimming and showcasing their skills in a safe and supportive environment."

The Meath Community Games Swimming Final 2023 was made possible thanks to the hard work of the organising committee, volunteers, and sponsors. The event was supported by the staff and management of Kells Swimming Pool who recognise the value of promoting physical activity and healthy competition among young people.

The first-placed winners of the Meath Community Games Swimming Final 2023 will go on to represent their area at the national level. They will compete against other young swimmers from all over Ireland in the Community Games National Finals, which will be held in Mayo this month.
