Anger as newly-planted shrubs at Navan's redesigned Kennedy Plaza go missing

Freshly planted shrubs in the new flowerbeds at Navan's Kennedy Plaza have gone missing.
Meath County Council said the plants had only recently been installed among the flowerbeds which are part of the Navan 2030 Redevelopment Scheme which have been underway for the last year.
The works are being carried out as part of the Navan 2030 project, a €13million rejuvenation of central Navan that will transform the streetscape of the town dramatically to a more pedestrian and cyclist-friendly town.
Works at Kennedy Plaza have seen a new wheelchair accessible ramp from the car park to the new plaza area installed while the bus interchange area is also now complete and open for pedestrian use.
In a statement Meath Co Council said: "Meath County Council notes some plants and shrubs are missing from the new flowerbeds in Kennedy Plaza.
"These were planted only recently and were provided with a nutrient-enriched feed. If you know the location of the plants, please contact us, and we can share the care plan for the plants."
Locals reacted to the post sharing their disappointment. "Nothing is safe anymore," remarked one poster.
Another mentioned other locations in Navan where the same incident occured:
"Saw the same thing in Blackwater Park. Holes in the flower beds where someone had robbed the shrubs."
"Same at the pump in Windtown, every flower robbed."
