St Oliver's NS take a trip down 'Memory Lane'
Teacher Marie Flood's third class in St Oliver's National School in Navan have created a poetry book called 'Memory Lane', and are most grateful to sponsors, Padraig and Louise Fitzsimons, Cafe Plaza.
Pupil Caoilainn writes: We have created our own book!! We are so proud. We decided to make a book as we had studied a lot of poetry in class. While making our book, we wrote many draft versions of our poems. It was quite a challenge coming up with our poems and illustrating them with colourful pictures.
“When everything was ready to go, we sent it to the publishers. Then we waited.
“We were still busy as we had to create our own invitations and make beautiful decorations for our book launch. Our book launch was last Friday, as a celebration of our hard work.
“It was a lovely day and we invited our parents and grandparents into our school. The book was fabulous. We created a collage of memories as the front cover. We all had refreshments afterwards. I enjoyed making our book. It was so much fun.”
