Meath’s adorable Ozzy is Meath’s Nose of Tralee contestant

A VERY special doggy that was found starved, alone and tied up as a pup and goes by the name Ozzy Pawsbourne is representing Meath in this year’s Nose of Tralee.

Ozzy is among the 32 pets who have made it to the final of the competition and who are representatives for each of the counties in Ireland.

The adorable Ozzy is a rescue dog from the amazing Irish voluntary community group with charitable status, Cara Rescue Dogs.

Owners Keeva Carpenter and James Gore adopted Ozzy in September last year after he was found tied up on his own by gardaí in Carlow.

Despite having an extremely difficult start to life, being left starved, alone and tethered, Ozzy is one of the happiest and friendliest you’ll ever meet.

The citation for Ozzy reads:

“His playfulness hasn’t just benefited his humans by keeping them endlessly entertained but it has also benefited many foster dogs that have struggled to come out of their shells.

"Ozzy is a social dog about town and you can find him sitting outside schools in the morning being greeted by lots of pets or out on the town over the weekend in our dog friendly locals! This spirit and character, along with his dashing good looks would make Ozzy the perfect Nose of Tralee."

The Nose of Tralee competition celebrates our favourite pets and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual competition which was set up by co-owner at Pet Sitters Ireland, Kate McQuillan.

Voting has now reopened on the Pet Sitters Ireland website and the overall winner of the title of Nose of Tralee 2023 will be announced on 22nd August.
