Mostly dry day with bright spells ahead, few showers

Occasional outbreaks of rain or drizzle will continue, but there will be decent dry intervals as well. Turning slightly warmer for Wednesday and Thursday. That's your latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Mostly dry with bright spells and just isolated showers throughout the morning and afternoon. By this evening, cloud will start to build with more persistent outbreaks of rain and drizzle pushing in to the west and southwest. That rain will then extend across the southern half of the country by nightfall. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in mainly light southwesterly or variable breezes.

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle continuing, mainly over the southern half of the country, but becoming lighter and patchier towards morning. Some patches of mist are likely to develop as well. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees, coolest in the north, in light and variable breezes.

Tomorrow is promised cloudy but dry for most areas with just a few patches of light rain or drizzle lingering in Munster and Leinster. Brighter over Ulster with decent spells of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees, warmest in the south, in light and variable breezes.

Dry with clear spells across the north and east on Tuesday night. Cloudier elsewhere with some patchy rain continuing. Lowest temperatures generally ranging from 10 to 14 degrees in very light and variable breezes.

Largely cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle in the south and west tracking across the country through Wednesday morning and afternoon. Drier and brighter conditions will follow for the evening. Turning quite humid with afternoon temperatures generally reaching 19 to 23 degrees. Light southwesterly or variable breezes.

Generally dry night on Wednesday with good clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in mainly light southeasterly breezes

Thursday again is expected generally dry with some bright spells to start. By the afternoon, scattered outbreaks of rain will start pushing in to Munster, becoming heavier and extending to most areas later in the evening. Another humid day with temperatures reaching 19 to 23 degrees, warmest in the north and west. Mainly moderate south to southeast breezes.

A mix of sunshine and showers are forecast for Friday, most frequent during the afternoon. Highest temperatures will generally range from 17 to 21 degrees. Mainly light to moderate southwesterly breezes, fresher in coastal areas.

Current indications are that it will be unsettled for the weekend with frequent showers or longer spells of rain.
