Lockies Wall Art competition returns to Navan

Hannah McNamara

Lockies Wall Art competiton is back and bigger this year!

The annual competition hosted and supported by Henry Loughran’s pub in Navan has returned with 29 artists involved, six more than last year.

Most of the artists involved are local to the area and there is a range of ages from 18 and upwards.

This year's competition not only sees the public as voters but also a professional judging panel has been provided with the help of Meath Arts Group.

Teacher of QQI level 5 Art subjects Sharon Maher, Navan artist Kieran Darby and Navan tattoo artist Cathal Brady are the judges.

The introducing of a judging panel this year means that all artists will receive feedback from their pieces.

An official photographer and website have also been introduced this year to increase awareness of the competition.

Vote for your favourite and give money directly to your chosen artist.

To vote you can buy tokens with Pints Raffles Tickets in the pub or go onto the website where you get one free vote.

Voting is open until 3rd September.
