Sophie English rules in Ulster Youth race

CYCLING

Bohermeen Cycling Club member Sophie English who was the overall winner of the under-16 Girls Ulster International Youth Tour Three-Day held recently by Foyle Cycling Club.

Over the three days there was four events. English was first in the time trial, second in the Crit, second in the Road race and first in road race.

Cillian Owens, Cian English, Eoin Davis, Oran Callan and Craig Ennis all rode exceptionally well leaving everything out on the road.

Owens placed sixth in under-16 boys stage three road race. Davis was sixth in under-14 boys stage 4 road race and was also part of the Cycling Lenister team which was second overall in this category.

Aoibhe Reilly placed second in the under-14 girls at Noel & Kieran Hammond Memorial Time Trial in Wicklow.

MOUNTNUGENT GP

Finally some good weather arrived earlier this month as Navan RC hosted the Mountnugent Grand Prix. there was a strong entry of over 60 riders which ensured some fast and furious racing, with lap prizes on offer. The Grand Prix was was mainly sponsored by Joe Moynagh and Raef McEnroe and The Bridge Inn. The winner of the senior race was John Buller (PB Performance) ahead of Moynalty CC's James McEneaney Moynalty. Buller won a tremendous sprint for the line and is a former Irish criterium champion. He received the Henry Morgan Ahern Cup at the presentation in the Bridge Inn.
