Meath West... What the new constituency changes mean

Longford Westmeath will take back a large swathe of territory from Meath West under the newly redrawn constituency maps.

The Commission recommends the removal of the boundary breach in the county of Westmeath by the Meath West constituency and that the Longford/Westmeath constituency should be made up of the counties of Longford and Westmeath.

This means areas such as Delvin and Collinstown in Westmeath but formerly part of the Meath West constituency will now move fully back into the Longford/Westmeath constituency with Meath West running along county boundary.

The boundary between the Meath East and Meath West constituencies should remain unchanged.
