Warm and humid with sunny spells and thundery showers

Staying very warm and humid with sunny spells and occasional thundery downpours. That's the latest forecast from Met Éireann for the coming days.

Mist and fog patches will clear from most areas this morning to leave a warm and humid day with spells of sunshine. Much of the country will have a dry day, but a few showers will develop, mainly across the western half of the country where they may turn heavy and thundery. Highest temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees in a moderate southerly breeze. Mist and fog may linger on some windward coasts throughout the day.

Warm and humid on Wednesday night with clear spells and a few showers, possibly heavy and thundery. Lowest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in a light to moderate southeast breeze, with a few mist or fog patches.

On Thursday morning, there will be spells of sunshine and scattered showers which will spread northwards over the country. Some of the showers are likely to be heavy and thundery with the potential for spot flooding. The afternoon will bring plenty of warm sunshine and isolated heavy downpours. A very warm day with highest temperatures generally ranging from 24 to 27 degrees in a light to moderate southerly breeze.

Warm and close on Thursday night with clear spells and areas of mist and fog. It looks set to be mostly dry but an isolated shower cannot be ruled out. Minimum temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in light and variable winds.

Mist and fog will lift from most areas on Friday morning but may linger in coastal areas. It will be another very warm day with plenty of autumn sunshine. However, a few heavy showers or thunderstorms may break out inland during the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperatures of 24 to 27 degrees in light and variable breezes. A lot of mist and fog around on Friday night with well scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms. Lowest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light or variable winds.

Rather cloudy and misty to start the day on Saturday with isolated heavy showers. Sunshine will develop in many areas during the afternoon but mist or fog may linger in some coastal areas. Further isolated heavy or thundery showers are possible. Maximum temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees in moderate southwest winds. Another warm and humid night on Saturday night with clear spells and scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms. Lowest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.
