McGrath's goal helps Dons get off the mark in the league

Jamie McGrath finished off and interesting few days for him when he helped Aberdeen to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Ross County at Pittodrie today.

A double from Bojan Miovski, McGrath's finish and a first goal of the campaign for Cape Verde international Luís Henriques de Barros Lopes, or Duk as he is widely known as, sealed victory for Barry Robson's side and secured their first league win of the season.

McGrath's goal against Ross County was the end product of a brilliant, flowing move stitched together by Aberdeen.

The victory marked an interesting few days for McGrath who was part of the Aberdeen side who put in a gritty display against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa Conference League campaign on Thursday.

Barry Robson's side held their own against the expensively assembled German side, but Robin Koch's glancing header midway through the second half earned the hosts the points.

Omar Marmoush had put Eintracht in front from the spot after Jack MacKenzie fouled Eric Junior Dina Emimbe, but Dante Polvara equalised from a superb team move to the delight of McGrath and the travelling Aberdeen contingent.

Aberdeen meet Ross County again in the Viaplay Cup on Wednesday when McGrath will be hoping to add to his account.

Their next Conference League outing is against HJK Helsinki at Pittodrie on 5 October, with the Finnish champions losing their opening Group G game 3-2 against Greek side PAOK.

McGarth is now very much established with Aberdeen after signing for the club after a spell with Dundee Utd last season.

Despite today's victory the Dons remain second from bottom in the Scottish Premiership.
