The driver of a bin lorry was hospitalised after the vehicle he was driving crashed into the front railings of a Navan apartment block stopping inches from the wall of the complex.

The incident is understood to have happened on Tuesday morning at the Milbrook Apartments building in Johnstown.

The Bord Na Mona recycling lorry was inches away from crashing into the Milbrook Apartments building.

Cllr Alan Lawes who lives locally said the Bord Na Mona recycling lorry "appeared to have lost control and crashed through the railings and wall surrounding the car park".
