Young and Old at Girley Harvest Festival

Michael Lynch was one of the youngest participants on one of the oldest tractors ploughing last Sunday at the Girley Harvest festival.

Michael was leading this group of tractors ploughing with a two sod plough and was pulled by the Ferguson Grey 20 a model from the mid 1950s.

The annual event on Philly Tully's land saw old time threshing at its best and the day was like a day from summer, the barbeque and tea was a treat to all who attended.

Francie Smyth from Dunderry the “Highway Man” also provided some entertainment on the day.

The Girley Harvest Festival which took place on 15th October is one of Ireland's largest working vintage events where exhibitors are actively encouraged to come and work their machines.
