Sinn Féin names candidates who will fight for council seats in Ashbourne and Ratoath

The countdown to next year's local elections continues, with Sinn Féin naming three candidates in the Ashbourne and Ratoath Municipal Districts.

Trish Murtagh and Fionnan Blake will contest the elections in the Ratoath Municipal District and Cllr Helen Meyer in the Ashbourne Municipal District.

Trish Murtagh is based in Ratoath, where she lives and reared her family, according to Meath East TD Darren O'Rourke.

"She is an independent business owner for 30 years and has a deep understanding of the importance of small businesses to local employment and economic development," he added. "She has vast experience in business and community development."

Fionnan Blake is Station Officer at Dunshaughlin Fire Station, and has worked in Meath Fire Service for more than 25 years.

"Cllr Helen Meyer is a busy councillor on Meath County Council, following her co-option earlier this year," the Meath East TD continued.

"Sinn Féin is ambitious to field a strong team at the local elections. We will add to the Ashbourne ticket and select our full complement of candidates across the county in the weeks and months ahead. In the meantime, I wish Trish, Fionnan and Helen well with their campaigns.
