VIDEO: Hatchet attack on vehicle in Navan car park

Gardai are investigating an incident in which a man took a hatchet to parked car in Navan's Kennedy Place at around 7pm on Sunday evening.

The man, in dark clothing and wearing a tasselled hat repeatedly pounded the car with a hatchet.

In full view of traffic in the busy car park, he repeatedly circled the car hitting it with the weapon.

The incident was reported to Gardai by members of the public but the owner of the car has not come forward.

The vehicle has been seized for technical examination.
